Job Purpose :
- Function as the key technical expert for customers and sales channel.
- Focus on increasing both the quantity and quality of our SEMI sales to customers through technical expertise and assistance in current sales efforts as well as innovation for new product development.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of tasks in several areas of applications engineering :
Accompany sales staff on visits to customer sites to identify and understand customer needsQualify and Communicate product opportunitiesCollaborate with Engineering to drive designs wins based on best technical solutionFacilitating corporate standards and cost efficienciesDriving growth within our product segment(s)Maintain and communicate understanding of technical trends driving our markets and competition as well as track customer roadmaps.Develop detailed specifications and application notes for new products; contribute content to technical collateral materialsMaintain customer files for use by global FAEs and other departmentsSupport field issues and repairsEducate sales staff or any other internal / external personnel about both new and existing productsCompliance and participation in all Smiths Interconnect EHS programs policies procedures and training requirementsQualifications :

Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and / or direct professional experiences in a related background of minimum five years required.On the job training will also be provided.Internal & External Key Stakeholders & Relationships
External : Direct customers distributors as well as customer equipment vendors such as ATE tester handler prober and conversion kit vendors.Internal : Sales CSR Engineering QA PLM are primary but most other Smiths departments as needed.Physical / Emotional Demands :
Ability to use manual and electric hand tools microscopes and have fine motor skills for spring probe replacement and / or repairs.
