Job Description
PHONO SOUNDS UK are looking for a Digital Distribution Manager to join our growing global Recordings team. This role will manage the Digital Distribution function from master and metadata ingestion through to delivery to DSPs including Spotify, Apple and Amazon Music amongst many others. You will work closely with A&R, Campaign Managers, Production and International Sales to ensure accurate delivery of digital assets to DSPs and other digital platforms. You will also be responsible for maintaining metadata across our entire catalogue to ensure information is complete and up to date, as well as implementing systems and workflows for music and asset distribution across the business.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and administer systems for metadata and product creation, storage and distribution, digital distribution and catalogue management
• Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of assets to DSPs including download, streaming, video services and promotional platforms
• Gather and ingest metadata into internal systems for all new projects
• Maintain and distribute release schedules across the business
• Manage the bulk delivery of catalogue to new DSPs as new deals are confirmed
• Work with the Head of Operations and distributors to establish robust product creation, metadata ingestion and digital distribution processes including issuing ISRC CODES, BAR CODES etc
• Always be looking for ways to improve the accuracy and depth of metadata across our labels catalogues
• Develop and implement streaming strategy for our artists and campaigns
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align streaming initiatives
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key streaming editors and partners
• Deliver compelling pitches to secure prominent playlist placements for our artists
• Monitor streaming performance and analyse data to inform next steps
• Deliver reports and insights on streaming performance and analysis
• Provide guidance on best practices for engaging with streaming platforms
• Stay up to date with industry trends and streaming platform updates
• You will be responsible for the development of an incredibly diverse and talented roster of domestic and international artists' streaming campaigns.
• You will create and execute strategic streaming plans on multiple campaigns at any one time.
• You will attend all streaming partner meetings to present and pitch our artists and releases for editorial, marketing and wider partner support.
• You will be expected to deliver innovative and creative campaigns that focus on both artist development and building authentic fan engagement.
• You will interpret data to generate insights, trends and data stories in the streaming landscape to ensure we're always making informed data-driven decisions.
• You will establish and deliver performance growth targets across all streaming metrics.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• Proven experience in a similar role within the music industry
• In-depth knowledge of streaming platforms and their functionalities
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform decision-making
• Excellent communication and pitching skills
• Passion for dance music (i.e house, trance, etc) and a keen understanding of various genres
• You will have strong experience in streaming and playlist strategy either through a label, distributor or DSP.
• You will have expert knowledge of the inner workings of all streaming services.
• You have a strong understanding of music data / analytics and the ability to interpret this to make strategic recommendations and tell compelling data stories.
• You are a creative thinker who loves a challenge, and you always look for multiple ways to solve a problem.
• You have exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple time sensitive tasks and prioritise effectively.
• You have great communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships.
• You enjoy presenting and are an assured speaker.
• You are a confident team member and understand the value of teamwork.
• Be highly organised and methodical in work
• Display meticulous attention to detail and high quality standards
• Have experience in managing large amounts of data
• Knowledgeable in metadata standards such as DDEX
• Knowledgeable of audio and video technical specifications
• Have a process driven and continuous improvement mindset
• Be a team player who is able to collaborate and forge strong relationships
• Intermediate Excel/Google sheets skills
