Contracts Management Specialist (m/f/d)

Overview: Boeing Technology Innovation Europe (BTI-E) is seeking a Contracts Management Specialist to support the capture and execution of BTIs research portfolio within Boeing’s global research organization across the UK, Germany, and Spain. The role is critical in ensuring external captures are compliant with EU or national funding schemes and internal policies, maintaining rigorous program‑management controls and fostering effective execution and communication across teams. The ideal candidate will support the technical managers and business development team while coordinating with other functions to meet capture goals with optimal execution and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- 55% Contracts: Proposal development and negotiation with other functions; contracting expertise to develop and negotiate creative business solutions with clients (contracts, leases, confidentiality agreements) and partners (collaboration, consortium, license agreements). Administration of contracts and agreements to ensure efficient, effective, and compliant performance throughout their lifecycle, including interpretation of contract requirements, risk management (in coordination with Risk Management and Legal), conflict resolution, delivery, and payment for products and services. Preparation of proposals, agreements, cost/resource estimates, and pricing. Drafting and negotiating all contracts. Data management: ensuring supporting documentation is available, contract-related compliance is documented, and information is properly stored. Educating executing teams on contract obligations and organising contract management compliance.
- 20% Assistance in running the business: Coordination for justification of costs and execution of projects to obtain grants and subsidies; administration of consortia and coordination with partners to comply with grant regulations and consortium agreement obligations. Supporting and leading external contract‑related tasks; organising contract compliance for audits required by contracts.
- 10% Intellectual Property: Liaising with intellectual property business focal points for contract drafting and negotiation to obtain proposal assessments and any other IP‑related matters for engineering teams.
- 5% Supply Management: Coordinating procurement processes, subcontracts, and agreements with suppliers that are part of proposals, ensuring terms and conditions (T&Cs) are flown down and executed.
- 5% Legal: Assessing contractual law, IP law, and export laws. Resolving initial disputes with clients and suppliers through negotiation (later steps coordinated with Legal PW Seattle and external counsel). Liaising with external counsel for legal assessments on all BTI‑related issues.
- 5% Compliance: Reviewing Boeing policies and procedures; conducting risk assessments twice yearly.
Basic Qualifications (Required Experience)
- 5 to 10 years of related industry experience.
- Fluent English and German proficiency.
- Proficiency and knowledge concerning Research & Development European Framework programs and European national governments (UK and Germany in particular) and experience in international contracting.
- Complete fluency in general business and contractual terminology in both English and German.
- Proficiency in a broad range of functional assignments and proven skills in communication, administration, analysis, leadership, short‑term and long‑term planning, problem solving, proposal preparation, negotiations, and administration of contracts or other contract specialties.
- Experience in legal and contractual aspects of intellectual property management and protection is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with M365, Windows‑related tools.
- Must have existing rights to work in Germany.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, international commerce, law or a related field.
- German mother tongue.
- Experience in a multinational company is a plus.
- Effective communicator with a proactive approach to solving problems.

- This requisition is for a locally hired position in Germany. The employer is Boeing Germany. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Germany. Benefits and pay are determined by Germany and are not on Boeing US‑based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
