Overview

Chief Financial Officer (m/f/d)

My client is a leading renewable energy company with a strong track record in the planning, construction, and management of large-scale photovoltaic systems. They deliver customised, end-to-end solutions that combine technical excellence, financial efficiency, and sustainable results. To strengthen their operational structures and support further growth, they are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer / Head of Accounting to establish, optimise, and manage the company’s commercial and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Management in Project Business
• Provide commercial support for project development (calculations, profitability analysis, financing structures).
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, including supplementary management.
• Work closely with project management teams to ensure smooth commercial execution of PV projects.
• Contribute to the design and optimisation of the ERP system for project management, budget monitoring, and commercial processes.
• Accounting & Financial Processes
• Oversee internal accounting processes (DATEV).
• Differentiate business transactions across affiliated companies to ensure tax efficiency.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (individual and consolidated, according to HGB).
• Implement and develop cost unit and project cost accounting.
• Liquidity & Financing
• Develop and manage liquidity planning and continuous cash flow management.
• Act as a key contact for banks, financiers, and external stakeholders.
• Structure project-related financing and provide economic decision-making support.
• Controlling & Reporting
• Develop and implement a robust controlling system for projects and company structures.
• Prepare reports and KPIs for management and derive actionable measures.
• Contribute to monthly and annual reporting as well as shareholder and board meetings.

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in a comparable senior finance or commercial management position, ideally in the renewable energy, construction, or project development industry.
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting (HGB), controlling, liquidity planning, and project accounting.
• Experience working with banks, tax advisors, and auditors.
• Proficiency with DATEV, MS Excel, and ERP systems (Work4All or similar).
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical ability and hands-on mentality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in complex situations.
