ShareTheMeal is WFP’s fundraising and awareness‑raising mobile app. Launched in 2015 as part of WFP’s Innovation Accelerator, the award‑winning app currently has more than 93 million users worldwide who have shared more than 160 million meals (US$ 100 million). It drives the organisation’s growth strategy for individual giving and serves as a key driver for future fundraising.

Background and Purpose of the Assignment

The Marketing Consultant will help extend ShareTheMeal’s reach and impact by developing and executing brand marketing campaigns, creating engaging content, and growing the user base through strategic marketing initiatives.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, execution and evaluation of ShareTheMeal brand marketing campaigns, including key campaigns such as End‑of‑Year and Ramadan.
  • Develop and document campaign best practices and learnings.
  • Create new creative ideas to activate both prospective and existing app users.
  • Leverage data and insights to design high‑quality fundraising creatives for digital channels.
  • Analyze paid‑advertising performance and use insights to refine content creation.
  • Prepare briefings for creative content for tactical paid‑ad campaigns.
  • Review and localise campaign materials and content to Arabic.
  • Support the brand marketing lead and head of marketing as needed.
Deliverables at the End of the Contract
  • Tactical paid‑ad campaigns are planned, launched and evaluated on time to high quality standards.
  • Brand marketing campaigns are planned, launched and evaluated on time to high quality standards.
  • Impact of each campaign is measured, documented and reports are stored on the internal knowledge base.
  • Regular updates on social‑media influencer management are prepared and documented.
Qualifications & Experience Required
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 3‑5 years in marketing, social‑media management, project management, journalism or communication.
  • Skills:
    • Project‑management: plan ahead, anticipate dependencies and manage competing priorities.
    • Strong analytical abilities (both quantitative and qualitative).
    • Experience with social‑media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Tik‑Tok.
    • Ability to create Tik‑Tok, Instagram stories & posts.
    • High‑quality written communication, including graphically‑based PowerPoint presentations.
    • Interpersonal skills, collaborative spirit and diplomatic interaction across cultures.
    • Self‑motivated, autonomy‑driven and proactive problem‑solving.
    • Commitment to WFP’s mission.
    • Languages: fluent written and spoken English and Arabic; knowledge of a second UN language is a plus.
