A clean energy technology company in Germany is seeking a Battery Analytics Specialist to lead the development of intelligent features for battery systems. The role involves collaboration across teams, driving innovation, and contributing to product scaling. Ideal candidates will have expertise in battery technology and software engineering, as well as excellent English communication skills. Flexible working arrangements, including remote options, are available.
Battery intelligence into products: You’ll bring your deep battery expertise into product development by shaping intelligent, data-driven features in our battery analytics platform. Your models and insights won’t just live in notebooks — they will ship as scalable software that delivers real value to customers.
From science to product: Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers to design, implement, and validate battery algorithms that support features like state estimation, degradation analytics, and safety indicators — always with a view toward reliability, performance, and customer needs.
Own product features end-to-end: From prototyping to production, you’ll be responsible for the technical feasibility, integration, and continuous improvement of new battery analytics features — ensuring they are robust, maintainable, and aligned with platform architecture.
Customer impact through platform scaling: Help scale our product to support diverse fleets of stationary storage and EV batteries. You’ll contribute to onboarding processes, understand customer use cases, and ensure that new insights are accurately and efficiently delivered at scale.
Advance our capabilities: Drive innovation in battery analytics, from refining electrochemical models and estimation techniques (e.g. SoC, SoH, SoP) to exploring novel uses of machine learning in diagnostics and lifetime forecasting.
Collaborative development: You’ll work in an agile, cross-functional team with Product, Engineering, and Data Science. You’ll take ownership of development streams while staying aligned with product goals and roadmap priorities.
Battery systems expertise: You have a solid foundation in lithium-ion battery technology and battery analytics. You're familiar with BMS signals, sensor data, and the structure of real-world battery systems. You understand materials, degradation mechanisms, and established estimation methods (e.g. SoH, SoC, SoP).
Product-oriented mindset: You enjoy building features that solve real problems. You understand how to balance scientific rigor with technical feasibility and customer needs. You’re motivated by shipping working software, not just publishing results.
Software engineering fluency: You write clean, testable Python code and have experience with version control (Git). You’re comfortable implementing data pipelines and can design algorithms that are computationally efficient and scalable.
Data handling experience: You’ve worked with time-series data, ideally from battery systems, and know how to handle noisy real-world signals. Experience with data engineering, cloud platforms, or large-scale battery datasets is a plus.
Teamwork and ownership: You thrive in a dynamic environment with cross-disciplinary collaboration. You’re communicative, proactive, and take ownership of your work through the full development cycle.
Language skills: Fluent English is required. German is a plus.
