Job Summary

The current opening of Application Scientist (f/m/d) is an important ingredients and applications development role, locally based in Geesthacht, regionally serving customers widely across the EMENA region while globally being embedded into the global Sensient Pharmaceuticals Business Unit with functional and business leadership based in Saint Louis, USA.

What you’ll do

• Ensure comprehensive application advise on the application of Sensient products
• Develop technical concepts and solutions in accordance with requests from sales/distribution and marketing, as well as from representatives
• Improve customer loyalty through technical seminars, training and presentation of innovative color concept
• Education and training of Sensient Group employees and sales/distribution representatives
• Performing product commercialization and creating test plans both in LIMs and Dev Ex
• Overseeing production trials on new products for the pharma business unit and assisting on production issues with Pharma products

What you’ll bring

• Professional experience in R&D and Application in the pharma or food ingredients industry
• BSc. or MSc in food science, food chemistry, food technology or pharmaceutical technology OR Apprenticeship in related fields
• Strong understanding of the development, production and application of food ingredients, experience with flavors, extracts, colors and coatings are an advantage
• Fluent (oral and written) in English; German and/or other European language skills are an advantage
• Strong intrinsically motivated mindset, innovative thinking and demonstrated ability to prioritize workload
• Willing / ability to travel up to 10%
