How will I make an Impact?

We seek a seasoned Software Developer passionate about engineering best practices. You will leverage your experience to boost team productivity and effectiveness through your coding, decision-making, and knowledge sharing. Your insights will help us invest in the right technologies and advance our AI initiatives.

As part of the D2L Labs team, you will lead the development of new products and features, integrate cutting-edge AI techniques, conduct ongoing research, and contribute to thought leadership. Your work will build on our foundation of innovation, exploring AI opportunities and understanding associated challenges, fostering a culture of continuous learning and agility.

What you’ll bring to the role :

• Strong communication skills for technical discussions and explaining complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in completing challenging projects involving AI and machine learning.
• Hands-on experience with large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Llama) and AI agents, including integration into enterprise applications.
• Alignment with AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
• Excellent collaboration skills working with product teams and stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of Computer Science topics including data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems, and machine learning.
• Proficiency in object-oriented design and coding.
• Experience in creating intuitive user interfaces.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies like Agile and Scrum, and best practices for AI deployment.

Expected Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of innovative solutions.
• 8+ years in software development, especially in scalable, cloud-based applications.
• 5+ years with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Experience with AI ethics and responsible AI development.
• Proficiency in CI / CD pipelines, security principles, and working with large language models.
• Understanding of agent-based systems and multi-agent architectures.
• Experience working in agile teams with tools like Git, Jira, Slack.

The salary range for this role is $130,000 — $160,000 CAD, based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include wellness subsidies, equity grants, and incentives.
