The Registered Nurse (RN) is registered annually with the College of Nurses of Ontario and has a Certificate of Competence. The RN oversees the care of residents following the guiding principles of the College of Nurses Standards of Care and is responsible for, and accountable for providing nursing care to residents, directing work of Personal Support Workers (PSW), and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) as required. The RN is a member of the Health Care Team in the home interacting with other disciplines such as the Nurse Practitioner, Physician, Dietician, and Physiotherapist to develop the residents' plan of care.
