Our team of over 700 dedicated staff provides community-based services to children, families, at-risk youth, and persons with diverse abilities. We proudly serve approximately 1,600 individuals each year through over 125 services, with revenues exceeding $50 million.
The Position
The Senior Manager of Quality Systems is a strategic and operational leader responsible for advancing organizational excellence through quality assurance, policy governance, proposal development, and health and safety initiatives. This role ensures organizational systems and practices reflect industry best practices, legislative requirements, accreditation standards and Taproot’s strategic goals.
The Senior Manager works cross-functionally to support quality improvement initiatives and collaborates with internal stakeholders to build systems that enhance service delivery and organizational learning. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer, works collaboratively with the Quality Improvement Specialist and oversees the Quality Assistant.
Schedule
One (1) permanent full-time position with a weekly schedule of 40 hours.
- Working Monday through Friday 0830-1630 (flexible)
- Flexibility will be offered for hybrid candidates located in Maple Ridge, BC or Edmonton, AB.

In Your Role You Will
- Policy Development & Governance: Lead the creation, review, and maintenance of organizational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory bodies, accreditation standards and internal objectives. Aid staff in understanding and interpreting policies and procedures.
- Document, Forms & Manuals Oversight: Manage the development, approval, and maintenance of operational forms, program manuals, and internal documents to support consistency, clarity, and accessibility across the organization. Provide documentation support for accreditation and Taproot’s Support Model.
- Occupational Health & Safety (OHS): Lead OHS initiatives in collaboration with the Health & Safety Advisory Board, ensuring a strong culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
- Proposal Writing & RFP Coordination: Lead the design, writing, and submission of detailed and persuasive proposals in response to RFPs and funding calls. Coordinate internal contributions and ensure timely, compelling submissions.
- Privacy & Risk Management: Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure integration of privacy, risk, and ethical considerations within all quality systems and documentation.
- Team Leadership & Oversight: Supervise, coach, and support the Quality Assistant. Promote accountability, growth, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Reporting & Communication: Develop concise, actionable reports and presentations for leadership on risks, documentation status, and proposal activity.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Services, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Public Policy or related field
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality systems, policy development, or compliance in nonprofit, social services, or healthcare
- Proven experience creating and maintaining policy frameworks and operational documents
- Demonstrated success in writing and submitting competitive proposals and RFP responses
- Analytics skills with ability to interpret data, identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment, work effectively both independently and as a member of a team, and adapt to a variety of schedules and working conditions.
- Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma, ISO, or other quality improvement methodologies
- Experience managing the full RFP process lifecycle
- Familiarity with occupational health & safety and privacy regulation
- Familiarity with Accreditation (e.g. CARF)
- SharePoint administration
- Records maintenance and database maintenance skills
