Job summary
A local healthcare provider in Cold Lake is seeking a volunteer to assist patients with recreational activities and personal care. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, serving meals, and providing comfort. Applicants should have a high school diploma and a passion for helping others. This position requires on-site work with no remote options. Interested candidates can apply via email.
Qualifications
- Experience in patient care or similar volunteer roles preferred.
- Ability to assist in physical activities and personal care.
- Basic first aid knowledge required.
Responsibilities
- Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities.
- Perform duties related to patient comfort and care.
- Monitor and report vital signs to nursing staff.
- Assist with meal service and personal hygiene.
Education
Starts as soon as possible
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
- Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
- Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
- Perform other duties related to personal care
- Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse
- Serve meal trays and feed patients
- Weigh, lift, turn and position patients
- Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
- Supervise patients’ exercise routines
- Maintain inventory of supplies
- Bathe, dress and groom patients
- Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
- Administer first aid in emergency situation
