A Project Leader (Postdoc position) is available in the Functional Inorganic Materials Group (KovalenkoLab) at ETH Zurich, Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences. The project aims to develop a conceptually new type of image sensor based on perovskite materials.

• Synthesis and deposition of perovskite thin films (e.g., thermal co-evaporation)
• Fabrication of charge-selective layers and transparent conductive oxide electrodes
• Development of perovskite-specific integration and patterning methods (adapted photolithography, dry/wet etching)
• Comprehensive optoelectronic characterization of fabricated devices
• Collaboration with industrial partners
• Maintaining thin-film deposition setups
• Supervision of the project with PhD students and a junior PostDoc

• A PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, or engineering with a strong publication record
• Solid experimental background in materials science and chemistry, and basic knowledge of electronics
• Mandatory experience in photodetectors, thin-film deposition, and microfabrication methods
• Strong background in experimental hardware and programming skills
• Willingness to take responsibility for a thin-film deposition cluster, including supervision and maintenance
• Abilities to manage complicated research projects and supervise a team of researchers (including PhD students and Postdocs)
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (both written and spoken)
