A healthcare organization in Nova Scotia seeks a Continuing Care Assistant. This part-time role involves providing personal care in client homes, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring household safety. Candidates must have relevant certifications, a valid driver's license, and be able to meet physical demands. Requisition Details: Employment Status: Temporary, Part-time (0.75 FTE). Program Name: Home Support. Number of Hours Bi-Weekly: 60. Work Schedule: Days, Evenings, Weekends. Union/Bargaining Unit: NSGEU. Anticipated End Date: September 2025. On Call: No. Locations: Annapolis and Kings County, NS. Funding is also available for the Continuing Care Assistant Program at community colleges across Nova Scotia. The Nova Scotia Government covers tuition and most program costs for eligible applicants. Please contact your local college for more details.
This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
