Instrumentation Technician
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and responsive maintenance on equipment used in facilities or wafer production.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in electro-mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment per plans, manuals, and sketches.
- Use diagnostic tools for calibration and repairs.
- Rebuild components and equipment as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma plus technical training in instrumentation
- At least 2 years of related manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of PLC programming (preferably Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens Building Automation)
- Understanding of electrical and electromechanical systems and schematics
- Ability to handle routine to moderately complex tasks involving equipment maintenance and repair
- Experience working with vendors for parts and repairs
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools, diagnostics, and data analysis
- Willingness to develop new technical skills
- Ability to advise operators and technicians on equipment and process issues
- Knowledge of safety regulations, SDS, LOTO procedures, and Hazardous Energy assessments
- Availability for on-call support in a 24/7 environment
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics or related field
- Experience in process manufacturing
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Must read and follow complex instructions and safety procedures. Ability to work in a clean room environment with appropriate gear. Must be capable of handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, kneeling, bending, and prolonged computer use. Occasional exposure to chemicals, vapors, and loud noise levels. Night and weekend work may be required.
