The Position
We are currently seeking a Junior Network Administrator. Be involved in a developing and leading edge VOIP, Internet and TV technology company. Working in a fast-paced atmosphere where you will be exposed to a wide variety of experience in many different technologies. The telecom environment offers its employees the highest quality of workmanship experiences and technology involvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Configuration, documentation, maintenance and troubleshooting of IP layer 2 and 3 networks.
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd level network support for IP networks
• Commercial services deployment and support
• IPTV deployment, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Call Centre and Installer escalations
• Maintain internal office network and services
• Linux servers and services configuration, deployment and monitoring
• Testing and deployment of new network access and CPE technologies
• On-call/Stand-by duty and scheduled out of business hours maintenance work
Required Qualifications
• Technical diploma, or certificate in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge • Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol, specifically relating to the routing of IP packets (OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, MPLS VPN, and Multicasting)
• Knowledge of layer2 network QOS and Multicast deployment.
• Knowledge with Network Monitoring software and solutions
• Working understanding of core technologies of Windows and Linux
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience working on simultaneous projects spanning different domains
• Class 5 Drivers License and vehicle
• Knowledge of scripting language – Bash, Python
• Remote management protocol – NETCONF, RESTCONF, SNMP
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiar with Bind, DHCP, Apache services
• Familiar with Internet streaming and encoding technologies
• Experience with Wi-Fi Technologies
• Experience in Linux server and services deployments
• Familiar with PON, G.fast and G.hn technologies
