Job summary
A well-established financial services firm in Canada is seeking a Junior Accountant responsible for day-to-day financial accounting, supervision of accounts payable, and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience and will contribute to tax filings, payroll accounting, and financial reporting. This role offers a dynamic work environment within a supportive team.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in accounting.
- Must be proficient in handling accounts payable.
- Ability to manage financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise accounts payable coding and processing.
- Monitor and administer invoicing functions company-wide.
- Ensure completion of all head office accounts payable issues.
Skills
Position: Junior Accountant
Reports to: Corporate Accountant
General Accountability: This position is responsible for the day-to-day financial accounting.
- Supervision Accounts payable coding and processing corporate as well as some data entry
- Supervise the posting of A/P invoices by branch and provide training where required.
- Provide support for all reporting requirements including month end, quarter end and year end closings.
- Maintenance of all G/L accounts and reconciliation as required.
- Monitor and administer the invoicing functions company wide.
- Administer and ensure completion of all head office accounts payable issues e.g. central payables processing.
- Responsible for all corporate income tax filings and procedures as required
- Responsible for all sales taxes and other company external administrative costs such as licenses, fees, WCB etc.
- Administer company pension plan and other benefit programs
- Responsible for payroll accounting and issues.
- Day to day banking issues and procedures.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting
