As aPerformance Measurement Analyst, you will contribute to the overall success of Wealth Management in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. You will also ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

--Calculate performance for all funds for eventual use in monthly measurement, monitoring and performance reporting;
-Participate in the implementation process and roll-out of Eagle performance measurement tool;
-Produce performance reports that include analysis of returns, risk, added-value and portfolio characteristics for internally managed portfolios;
-Provide return data and portfolio characteristics information to institutional sales for purposes of marketing to institutional clients;
-Prepare timely investment commentary and performance reporting for monthly and quarterly performance measurement reports on mutual funds, private wealth, institutional clients;
-Collect and process investment and accounting data from various sources, ensure accuracy of data, investigate discrepancies, correct and confirm data;
-Liaise with Portfolio Managers and Accounting to resolve any discrepancies in returns;
-Investigate and document discrepancies such as unexplained market value changes, corporate actions or incorrect feeds;
-Test to ensure accuracy and completeness of information being used to calculate performance and benchmarks;
-Assist in the preparation of presentation materials when required.
-Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
-Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

--Bachelor Degree. In an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Commerce, Finance or Economics an asset;
-A minimum of CFA Level 1 Completed
-CIPM/FRM would be an asset
-Completion of Canadian Securities Course
-Previous experience within the Mutual Fund industry
