Overview

Responsibilities
  • Follow a comprehensive financial planning framework to drive investment sales and new client acquisition while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish business development opportunities with prospects and clients within the assigned market area.
  • Promote development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business in the assigned market area by:
    • Business Development: Execute on plans for prospects and existing clients, identify additional opportunities, and facilitate the implementation of an investment solution or referral to appropriate partners.
    • Client-Centric: Provide client-centric investment solutions through a financial planning framework, conduct outbound communications, and perform complimentary needs analyses.
    • Community Involvement: Actively participate in local professional and community events, deliver financial seminars, network with investment industry specialists, and manage a small budget for independent marketing activities.
  • Drive new client acquisition while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service within the scope of a branch network and Scotia Global Asset Management collaboration.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • Mutual funds certified professional with current accreditation and MFDA licensing requirements (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • Personal Financial Planning (PFP®) designation and/or Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
  • Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building and maintaining Centres of Influence (COIs).
  • Goal oriented and entrepreneurial; able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a larger team.
  • Extensive knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and the regulatory environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to meet clients and prospects within the designated district.
