An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Technical Personal Lines team as a Senior Pricing Analyst, focusing on the technical pricing of commercial lines of business. We’re looking for a candidate who has a few years’ experience working in insurance pricing and is looking to take on more responsibility.
The ideal candidate enjoys applying machine learning and other analytical techniques to solve problems, is keen to collaborate within a team, and is constantly striving to develop their skills.
What will I be doing?
Role
Your role in technical pricing will vary daily. Here are some of the key responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop sophisticated pricing models and price optimization techniques.
- Analyze, evaluate, and assess new rating factors and develop pricing structures utilizing them.
- Guide the business in determining the pricing actions required to meet objectives.
- Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of pricing and analysis tools such as WTW Radar, WTW Emblem, SAS Enterprise Guide, SQL, and Python.
- Automate, streamline, and document pricing processes for efficiency.
- Present technical proposals to stakeholders as part of sign-off and governance processes.
- Manage certain processes and liaise with relevant stakeholders internally and externally.
- Manage and develop your line reports' careers.
What would we like to see in you?
- A 2:1 bachelor’s degree or higher in a numerical subject or equivalent experience.
- Experience in general insurance pricing, underwriting, or related technical functions.
- Experience applying machine learning, statistical, and mathematical techniques in insurance pricing, predictive modeling, and analytics.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently or in a team, managing time effectively under pressure.
- Drive to improve and demonstrate core company values.
- Experience analyzing data with actuarial or analytical techniques, or working in UK personal or commercial lines underwriting, is advantageous.
