Overview

Reporting to the President, Personal Insurance and Select, the Vice President, Sales is responsible for providing sales leadership to help exceed growth objectives by managing a group of Producers. The Vice President, Sales role will be heavily focused on providing motivation, accountability, training, hands‑on coaching, and sales culture development while maintaining a supporting focus on innovation, strategy, insurer relations & placement, cross‑selling, and recruiting. Using the tools & technologies available at Gallagher for monitoring, planning, and strategy execution.

How you'll make an impact
  • Work closely with President, Personal Insurance and Select and Operations leaders to drive new business growth and maximize retention with existing clients.
  • Lead the hiring, mentoring, motivating, and development of sales staff to ensure alignment with goals and objectives in the business.
  • Working with Producers to establish an annual sales plan with strong growth goals that will act as baseline for accountability and development.
  • Hold Producers accountable for delivering against relevant targets, and providing coaching & development opportunities to support their success.
  • Create a positive work environment, and promote opportunities for personal growth and career development.
  • Overseeing sales activities and monitoring progress within applicable CRM.
  • Coordinating with marketing on lead generation campaigns.
  • Working with AVP Group Home and Auto on solidifying relationships with sponsor programs and conversion of those programs into insurance sales.
  • Ongoing coordination of sales, technical, specialization, and soft skills training.
  • Promoting the organization and various divisions.
  • Identify and develop succession plans within the Region with key stakeholders, and participate in networking events inside and outside Gallagher.
  • Working collaboratively with Operations leaders to identify opportunities to improve retention and increase revenue through upsell opportunities on the existing book.
  • Manage key market relationships.
  • Lead development and execution of sales and marketing plans to support continuous top‑line and bottom‑line growth and brand awareness.
  • Ensure staff are following appropriate workflows and are using the appropriate systems and tools.
About you
  • Minimum of 7 years of previous sales leadership experience within insurance or other industries
  • Minimum of 5 years previous talent management & development experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals and initiatives and deliver desired results
  • Proven experience with developing a book of business
  • Demonstrated and proven results in employee development
  • Strong analysis and decision‑making ability
  • Highly organized and strong time‑management skills
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change and building strategic relations
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Well‑versed in computer and software skills (previous Salesforce, EPIC experience an asset)
