A leading industrial mining company in Nova Scotia seeks an experienced Environmental Health and Safety professional. This role involves developing safety programs, monitoring compliance with regulations, and conducting both office and fieldwork. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Environmental Sciences, certification in Occupational Health and Safety, and at least 5 years of relevant experience. The company emphasizes a strong commitment to workplace safety and employee training.
The successful candidate will bring a proactive and collaborative approach, supporting all departments in fostering a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace and provide advice to management and employees along with establishing the improvements needed to ensure environmental and health and safety legislated compliance.
This role requires both office‑based and field work in an industrial mining environment. Fieldwork may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including steel‑toe boots, hard hat, and safety glasses when on‑site. Must be capable of walking, climbing, and working at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
