Job Overview

The engineer is responsible for the developmental efforts of CMiC’s core product components: web security, web applications, generic utilities. The role involves designing, developing, troubleshooting, and testing, primarily developed using JavaScript, HTML, Java, Oracle ADF Framework, PL/SQL, and Oracle database.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Write high quality and well-documented code according to accepted standards based on business requirements using one or more of the following tools and technologies: Oracle ADF Framework, Oracle JDeveloper, Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL, SQL.
2. Provide estimates for development items and consistently meet estimate and programming deadlines.
3. Provide standard product and enhancement support.
4. Provide integrated testing and debugging for new programming tasks/functions.
5. Create detailed technical design specification documents that can later be used for programming when required.
6. Conduct regressive testing to ensure backwards compatibility of the system.
7. Evaluate alternative design approaches to meet business requirements.
8. Collaborate with team members and other departments to find solutions.
9. Participate in project and team meetings.
10. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. University Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
2. 5+ years of hands-on professional Java/J2EE programming experience.
3. Proficient in reading and writing Java.
4. Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Strong knowledge for reading and writing HTML5 and JavaScript.
7. Knowledge of web application architectures.
8. Knowledge of web security: authentication, protocols.
9. Knowledge of HTTP communication workflow.
10. Familiarity with Oracle databases and SQL, PL/SQL.
11. Nice to have experience with Oracle JDeveloper.
