We have an exciting opportunity on our Sales team as Customer Insights Manager. This role is based out of our Mississauga Head Office location (60% in-office, 40% remote) and reports to the Director of Insights & Channel Strategy.

This role is responsible for developing recommendations and supporting insights and analysis to the Sales team and cross-functional partners through preparation of value-added analysis, execution of shelving and assortment strategies, and analytic mentorship. Leads insights discussions externally with key customers to influence product placement at retail.

Responsibilities

Develop Value-Added Analysis

  1. Probes to understand analytic objectives when preparing Assortment Reviews, category storylines, promotional evaluation etc. while integrating relevant data sources (Nielsen Consumer Information Platform (CIP) & Shopper Track data, 3rd party Customer point of sale (POS) Systems, Industry Trends) to support the analytic objectives.
  2. Influences the annual and ongoing business planning process for all key accounts and brands by providing category insights and analysis.
  3. Influences account decision makers to achieve Category and Campbell’s growth through Assortment, Merchandising, Promotion, and Pricing suggestions.
  4. Engages customers on category Thought Leadership.
  5. Supports strategic marketing initiatives through analytic support.

Execute Shelving & Assortment Strategies & Tactics

  1. Develops insights from JDA software and designs planograms based on strategies and customer input.
  2. Influences key customer contacts by leading shelving, assortment, and planogram proposals and initiatives and providing recommendations.
  3. Liaises with third party provider for planogram production.

Scorecard Reporting

  1. Create and maintain sales performance scorecards leveraging customer specific POS Systems.
  2. Accurately monitors and reports on Campbell's and competitive trends on a timely basis.

Provide Analytic Mentorship

Leadership role in Coaching Sales team members and cross-functional partners through:

  1. Category management process.
  2. Nielsen Answers /Customer POS Systems navigation techniques and application of templates.
  3. Nielsen / Customer POS Systems facts and concepts to improve their analytical skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • University Degree or Diploma.
  • 5 years of experience in customer or consumer insights in Consumer Package Goods.
  • Effective winning team focus & ability to translate experience into actionable insights for the sales and marketing teams.
  • Advanced understanding of Nielsen Market Track, Homescan, and CIP.
  • Advanced understanding of customer POS platforms (LDIA, Circana, Dunhumby).
  • Advanced understanding of JDA Space Planning Software or equivalent.
  • Advanced communication, storytelling & presentation skills.
  • Effective in category & brand dynamics.
  • Effective negotiation & influencing skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills & ability to build strong external business partnerships.
  • Effective time management & prioritization skills.
  • Effective proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
