Environmental Monitor – CPESC Focus Edmonton, AB

About Allnorth

Allnorth is a multi-disciplinary engineering, project delivery, and construction services company. We provide smart and practical project solutions to clients in the metals and minerals, energy and renewables, fiber and chemicals, and infrastructure sectors. With offices across Canada, and into the US and Mexico, we continue to grow!

Our team is our most valuable asset, and a triple bottom line (TBL) philosophy is at the heart of our business. It takes a talented, motivated, and empowered team to delight our clients, driving profitability for all parties. Safety is part of our DNA, and we are committed to building Indigenous relationships, supporting communities, and environmental stewardship.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Monitor with a strong focus on Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) who holds a CPESC designation (or equivalent) or is actively pursuing it. You will be the go-to resource for planning, implementing, and leading ESC activities on construction and mining projects. Your work will support regulatory compliance, environmental performance, and field execution — while mentoring others and contributing to our team’s success.

A Day in the Life
  1. Developing site-specific ESC plans and prescriptions for construction and mining projects
  2. Leading on-site ESC installations and mentoring junior field staff
  3. Performing inspections to ensure best practices and compliance
  4. Working with contractors and clients to implement mitigation strategies
  5. Maintaining technical documentation and reports
  6. Monitoring construction activities related to environmental protection
  7. Attending project and safety meetings
  8. Promoting safety culture and adhering to safety protocols
  9. Liaising with clients, regulators, and contractors
What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • Diploma or degree in environmental science, agrology, biology, forestry, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in environmental consulting, with focus on ESC
  • CPESC or equivalent ESC-related certification, with willingness to obtain CPESC if not already certified
  • Proven ability to prepare ESC plans and lead installation and compliance monitoring
  • Strong knowledge of ESC best practices in construction and mining environments
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites

Bonus if you bring:

  • QEP or QEP-eligible designation (e.g., RPBio, P.Ag, RPF, P.Eng)
  • Experience mentoring junior monitors or overseeing ESC field teams
What’s in it for you?

We believe a happy and fulfilled team leads to exceptional results. Our perks include:

  • Flexible work schedule and location for better work-life balance
  • Comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and RRSP matching
  • Employee Assistance Program for team members and families
  • A culture of respect and inclusivity
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • Team Member Referral Program
  • Monthly “Lunch & Learn” sessions
  • Opportunities for social involvement and community support initiatives

WE TAKE CARE OF YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF OUR CLIENTS

Join us to face rewarding challenges, contribute to client success, and be a vital part of the Allnorth team, where you’ll be valued and supported.
