Tasks:

1. Install domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
2. Repair domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
3. Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
4. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
5. Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings
6. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
7. Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment
8. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
9. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
10. Estimate costs and materials
11. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes and sizes

Supervision: 1 to 2 people

• Supports foreign credential recognition
• Offers mentorship programs pairing newcomers and refugees with experienced employees
• Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to foster an inclusive work environment

Support for youths:

• Participates in programs supporting youth employment
• Offers on-the-job training, mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth
• Provides awareness training for creating a welcoming environment for youth
