Job summary

A local education authority in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Student Supervisor for daily supervision of students before and after school. The ideal candidate will develop a positive rapport with students, possess current CPR and First Aid training, and have experience working with children. Vacant Student Supervisor- 1.00 hours per day

Starting Wages - $18.38 per hour

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 73 Bargaining Unit.

Student supervisors provide indoor and/or outdoor general student supervision.

Qualifications and Abilities
  • Develop and maintain positive rapport with students.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative.
  • Bona fide occupational requirements of the position, including physical ability.
Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision for students before and after school, during the lunch and recess breaks.
  • Familiarization of any medical or programs students may have (e.g. specific behaviour plans).
  • Report to the principal or designate any problem or discipline issue that occurred during supervision.
  • Other duties that are site specific (polices and protocol) and within the scope of responsibility of the position.
