Overview

Winter Seasonal Operator, Highway Maintenance with Ledcor Highways Ltd. (LHL) in Ontario. We offer year-round employment with long-term contracts and a focus on safety, community, and career growth. If you hold a DZ or AZ license and want to contribute to local highways, we want to hear from you!

We are currently hiring for the following areas: Wawa, White River, Hinkler Lake, Thessalon.

Essential Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Work outside in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc.
• Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
• Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset

Work Conditions

• Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
• Accommodations provided for out-of-town applicants in Hinkler Lake, Chapleau and White River
• As we respond to various weather patterns, shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Work schedules will consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours (shop specific)
• CLAC union position
