The location in Port Mellon , British Columbia , Canada , is seeking talent to fill the position of Warehouse Supervisor . This job is full-time permanent .

GENERAL DUTIES OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible to ensure Millstores Department objectives are met with the overall focus on employee safety and improved efficiency. With a primary focus on control of inventory materials required for operations, key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, millstores department manning and warehouse operational management. This position will also have a high regard for safety, and the ability to establish and maintain departmental safety goals and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • With input from Purchasing Manager, responsible for the safe operations in the Millstores department, ensuring all safety program, WSBC regulations, Company safety programs and policies are adhered to.
  • Supervisor/schedule and ensure training of Millstores personnel to achieve and maintain operational efficiency and performance goals.
  • Ensure acceptable departmental level of housekeeping is maintained, safeguarding warehouse operations and contents by ensuring the cleanliness and security of the work environment.
  • Maintains accurate receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and applying programs, operations, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Controls accurate inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system, keeping stock control systems up to date and planning future capacity requirements.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; co-ordination with Purchasing Manager for issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Ensure all inventory location are stocked/replenished as required.
  • Ensure min/max levels maintained to assure no down time attributed to inventory shortages.
  • Review working practices and engage in recommendations for improvements and analysis (cost savings, turnover rates) that maintain department efficiencies and development programs and training (SOPs).
  • Maintain SAP data generated supply chain reports.
  • Management of Consignment inventory.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Supervisory experience and (basic) SAP knowledge preferred.
  • High school graduate.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with Excel spreadsheet experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communications skills in both dynamic team environments and with vendors.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Hourly rate of $44.574 per the Howe Sound Labour Agreement
  • Overtime is compensated per the Howe Sound Labour Agreement
  • Comprehensive benefit package including extended health/dental coverage and pension.
