Position Summary :

The Warehouse Coordinator role provides administrative support to the warehouse operations of a dedicated McDonald's distributorship. The responsibilities include planning and scheduling manpower and equipment for the hourly workforce, while fostering an environment that maximizes employee safety, involvement, and morale.

The Warehouse Coordinator ensures safety remains a top priority through effective daily communication and action plan execution with employees. They advocate for injury and collision risk management and incident avoidance.

Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :

  • Plan daily and weekly workforce schedules
  • Conduct daily shift meetings, communicate safety and operational messages, gather suggestions, and answer questions
  • Assign daily work duties to warehouse staff
  • Manage workflows efficiently, complying with our Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Maintain Vocollect and WMS systems
  • Ensure employee productivity, product, and equipment reliability meet all standards
  • Follow all SOPs and provide necessary training to employees
  • Maintain production schedules and relevant information
  • Communicate across Warehouse and Transportation departments regarding potential issues impacting customers or operations
  • Promote teamwork and maintain a positive attitude to demonstrate leadership
  • Adhere to industry, company, and sanitation standards, ensuring the physical plant and transportation equipment are hazard-free and compliant with legislation
  • Follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)
  • Perform other projects or duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience :

  • University or college degree in business, engineering, logistics, or related field
  • Ideally, three to five years of experience in high-volume, food service, unionized distribution, or logistics
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office
  • Leadership qualities
  • Strong problem-solving and integrative thinking skills
  • Work ethic, ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
