Qualifications

Overview

Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP), located in St. Marys, Ontario, is the largest veterinary owned distributor in Canada. Our primary purpose is to ensure that Veterinarians have the supplies they need to provide healthcare to all types of animals. Be a part of the Supply Chain Industry and join our team. We are currently looking for likeminded individuals to join our Operations team in a Full-Time Warehouse Associate role.

Position

WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE (Full-Time)

Responsibilities
  • Under the general direction of the Order Process Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Coordinators, perform warehouse duties related to picking, verifying, packing, and shipping orders.
  • Pick and verify product orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Pack orders to prevent damage during transport and ensure shipping labels are applied as required.
  • Maintain the warehouse to keep the proper amount of product available and ensure shelves are neat and free of excess packaging material and debris.
  • Complete daily warehouse preparation jobs, as assigned.
  • Understand and follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Note: This position requires employees to walk/stand for the entirety of their shift, and lift up to 50 lbs, as needed.

Health & Safety
  • Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Conducts self with regard for the safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures.
  • Reports any health & safety violations or hazards to a Supervisor, Coordinator, or Manager.
Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Schedule

Operational days are Sunday-Friday with varying shifts based on business needs. Operational hours run from 6am until 9pm. Shift openings are posted internally as needed.

Shift details: Sunday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Thursday 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM. Alternatively Sunday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM. Based on shift availability, employees may be reassigned accordingly. There is no guarantee of a specific shift; openness to either option is encouraged.
