Volunteer Seasonal
16 SHIFTS DURING THE WINTER SEASON (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Supervisory team, Mountain Safety is responsible for promoting and implementing skier/boarder education practices across the resort. The team will work in conjunction with the Ski Patrol in areas of skier education, and public relations. Mountain Safety will also aid our guests where necessary and maintain a high level of professionalism throughout all activities.
- Provide and maintain a positive presence on hill, while being available to assist resort guests as needed to ensure their experience at the resort. (Way finding, attraction offerings etc.)
- Observe guest behaviors and educate accordingly.
- Assisting other departments as requested. e.g. Grooming, Snowmaking, Lifts, (but not limited to)
- Meeting the operating expectations as they relate to guest experience, safety and effectiveness.
- Must have the ability to ski/board with unloaded toboggans, bringing them into incident on hill.
- Provide reassurance to injured guests, until Ski Patrol arrives, and takes over.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Strong intermediate skier / snowboarder (able to confidently ski / board all resort terrain)
- Strong communications skills
- Successful applicants will be required to provide a criminal background check (vulnerable sector)
