Overview

Title: Visiting Nurse

Location: Timmins

We are looking for a Visiting Nurse (RN or RPN) who is comfortable providing care to our clients. Our next Visiting Nurse will thrive in a culture made for caring where being flexible and possessing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills will drive the success of their role.

If your passion is rooted in all things client focused and you have a strong urge to provide care to a variety of patients in the community and have extensive wound care experience, then this would be the opportunity for you!

What you will be doing
  • Care for client needs with extensive experience in wound care management.
  • Experience with IV antibiotic administration, IV cannulation, chemo disconnects, CVAD care, and PORT-A-CATH access/de-access is an asset.
  • Report and coordinate with the HCCSS (LHIN).
  • School student support.
  • Travel between clients and work within the community.
  • Create reports and updates on clients.
  • Order supplies for patients.
  • Build connections and rapport with clients.
  • Work as a self-starter with minimal supervision; capable of functioning independently or as part of a team.
  • Problem-solve to provide the best customer service possible.
  • Prioritize safety for yourself and clients.
Skills needed for success
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with strong schedule management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Minimum of two years’ community or clinical/hospital experience preferred.
  • Currently certified as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the CNO.
  • Currently certified with Standard First Aid & CPR / AED (Level C).
  • Mask fit testing is a plus.
  • Ability to commit to weekends and on-call shifts.
