As a Visiting Hospice Volunteer, your dedication and kindness enables us to provide support to palliative clients and their families. Volunteers are matched one-to-one with an individual in the community based on shared background, interests or hobbies. The same volunteer visits weekly to provide companionship and respite time to the individual and their family.
The Visiting Hospice Program aims to create a rewarding experience for both our volunteers and our clients by fostering connection and meaningful support. The program offers opportunities for social companionship, legacy work, activities of interest, respite relief, and more.
Visiting Hospice Volunteers visit their client at a mutually agreed upon time wherever the client resides, whether that be a residential home, long term care facility, hospice residence, retirement or hospital.
