If you are passionate about news and current events, OMNI wants to meet you. We are looking for a talented video journalist who can tell compelling stories for Canada's cultural communities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in journalism and a passion for storytelling.

Your Responsibilities
  • Find original stories that reflect and resonate with the Arab community in Canada.
  • Film, edit, report, and present news about the Arab community across all platforms, including the national Arabic‑language newscast.
  • Provide live and recorded coverage, both in the studio and in the field, using scripts and improvisation.
  • Organize content and write relevant, engaging, and concise news stories under tight deadlines, adhering to editorial and format standards.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of innovative journalists at OMNI and CityNews.
  • Develop a strong network of contacts within the Arab‑Canadian community.
Your profile
  • Fluency in Modern Standard Arabic, ability to read and write Arabic, and basic knowledge of French and English.
  • Proven experience using video cameras and editing.
  • Adaptability and perseverance in the face of obstacles to produce compelling reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • In‑depth knowledge of digital news and the ability to identify trends on social media.
  • Experience in live reporting and field production is an asset.
  • Degree in journalism (television) or equivalent experience.

Schedule: Full time
Shift: Variable
Length of Contract: 12 Months
Work Location: 1200, avenue McGill College (179), Montreal, QC
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
Background Check(s) Required: Canadian Criminal Record Check and Driver's Abstract
