Overview
Ontario Health at Home is looking for a senior health care leader with in-depth knowledge of the community health sector to lead the improvement of patient experience through high quality care. The Vice President, Patient Services Regional Lead provides strategic leadership, direction, coordination and oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of home and community care programs and services. This position is accountable for achieving home and community care objectives and earning the trust of the health system and community partners to support patients across the continuum of care.
Reporting to the Chief Patient Services Officer, this role includes oversight for a team of Patient Services Vice Presidents, leading strategic planning and delivery of home and community care services, building and maintaining relationships with community health partners and contracted provider agencies, and developing strategic partnerships with other organizations within the healthcare sector. The VP will escalate emerging issues to the Chief Patient Services Officer and support development for other Vice Presidents within the region and portfolio.

What will you do?
- Provides strategic leadership and guidance to the Patient Services Vice Presidents within the designated region on applicable programs, services and regional issues, delivering mentorship to build and motivate a high performing team
- Uses an evidence-based framework and best practices to provide strategic direction and recommendations on programs and initiatives specific to the region and portfolio
- Translates Ministry and Ontario Health Operational Direction into meaningful strategic and business initiatives; guides strategic planning focusing on strategic business drivers
- Acts as the first escalation point for day-to-day Patient Services matters within the region and provincial portfolio
- Ensures Chief Patient Services Officer is apprised of issues, risks, and changes in a timely manner
- Supports the region’s Patient Services teams in ensuring consistency and harmonization of policies, programs, and processes
- Represents the designated region and portfolio on internal and external committees and meetings
- Develops and fosters strategic partnerships with Ontario Health and other System partners executive leadership to support provincial priorities and initiatives
- Coordinates Patient Services regional and provincial reports related to the portfolio
- Accountable for relevant SAA indicators, including supporting the Patient Services Leadership team in developing and implementing strategies to achieve targets
- Presents and communicates with the broader Executive Leadership Team, the CEO and Board of Directors as required
What must you have?
- University degree in a healthcare discipline; Master’s degree an asset
- Ongoing membership in good standing as a Regulated Health Professional with applicable College
- Post-secondary / Master’s degree in health administration, public administration or related field required
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of senior management experience in the community health sector (governmental; non-governmental; not-for-profit; and commercial) in large and complex health and human service delivery organizations
- Significant experience in a patient services healthcare role with demonstrated experience in strategic leadership involving business and partnership development
- Innovator with the ability to translate knowledge of health care issues into practical application towards a high quality, accessible, integrated and sustainable health care system
- Extensive knowledge of the government’s health care agenda and the evolving role of Ontario Health at Home
- Understanding of service delivery models, emerging issues and future opportunities in healthcare
- Ability to build multi-year strategic plans at the portfolio level that align with the Ministry's healthcare agenda
- Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring operational, performance, accountability and quality improvement initiatives
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with community organizations, local and provincial governments, health service providers and others
- Change management skills to lead Ontario Health at Home’s evolving care coordination models
- Knowledge of performance metrics, analysis and reporting, including financial data, quality indicators and quality improvement initiatives
- Superior communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to work with staff, patients and service providers at the executive level
- Excellent collaboration skills with stakeholders and Ontario Health at Home colleagues
- We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date
