Systematix is seeking a senior UX Designer with strong Figma sills. This role is Hybrid, based in Toronto (downtown); contract with possibility of FTE down the road.

• Ending date : 1 year plus extensions and / or possible contract-to-hire

Role Overview

• As a Product Designer, you will lead the design process from concept to implementation.
• Conduct user research and apply insights to design.
• Create high-fidelity prototypes or mockups to effectively communicate designs.
• Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.
• Effectively communicate designs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement them.
• Develop and implement design strategies aligned with product goals, standards and architecture.
• Develop, maintain, and scale the compass design system for use across product modules.
• Conduct usability testing, ensure accessibility, and mentor junior designers.

About you

• 5+ years of experience designing web-based software applications; B2B / Fintech experience is a plus.
• Experience working with cross-functional product, design, and engineering teams in an agile / lean environment.
• Expertise in using design thinking and human-centered design methodologies to facilitate the design process; a drive to really understand and confirm the problem before designing a solution.
• Experience with building and maintaining a design system in Figma and working with developers to maintain a design system in coded design system.
• Proficient with design specification / dev handoff to include designs for (design system usage, interaction design, copywriting, i18n, a11y, error handling, and handling data variations etc.).
• Strong prototyping and interaction design skills, either with graphic tools or in HTML / CSS / JS.
• Great written and spoken communication skills. Self-starting on projects and working from a position of ambiguity is very beneficial. Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and techniques for making web-based software accessible is an asset.
