Job summary

A healthcare facility in Ontario is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Sonographer to join their Diagnostic Imaging team. LOCATION

Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Acute services include emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical care and palliative care. Post-acute specialty services (PASS) include restorative care and rehabilitation. Mental health care, cancer and supportive care, dialysis and other ambulatory care clinics are offered on an outpatient basis through partnerships with regional centres and nearby specialists. Role Overview

Reporting to Director of Diagnostic Imaging and accountable to the Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, the successful applicant will be responsible for performing various ultrasound examinations.

  • Applicants will be required to work closely with the medical staff of NHH.
  • Must be proficient performing all forms of diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
  • The successful applicant will be required to assist with various interventional ultrasound procedures (ultrasound guided biopsies etc.).
  • Will be required to participate in the after-hours on-call rotation (evenings, weekends, statutory holidays: 30-minute response time).
Qualifications/Requirements
Required
  • Must be registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and be in good standing.
  • A member of Sonography Canada
  • Strong communication, organizational, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Responding professionally and appropriately in high stress and emergency situations.
  • Required to assist patients during the transfer to and from the Ultrasound table/stretcher, also may be required to move and/or transport hospital related equipment.
ASSETS
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting
  • Recent related EPIC experience/electronic documentation in a hospital setting
  • Previous experience working with a Picture Archive Communication System (PACS), Hospital Information system (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS)
Employment Requirements

Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment. Additionally to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
