Job summary

A transportation company in Calgary is seeking a dedicated truck driver to operate and manage the delivery of goods. The role is physically demanding and requires AZ class licensing, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada. Competitive hourly pay is provided for full-time roles, typically between 38 to 40 hours a week.

Qualifications

  • AZ class license required.
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks) mandatory.
  • Experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan or adjust routes using navigation devices.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns.
  • Load and unload goods.
  • Operate and drive trucks to transport goods.

Responsibilities
Tasks
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
