Job summary

A leading mining company located in Northeastern Ontario is looking for a Truck & Coach Technician. The successful candidate will ensure optimal equipment availability by servicing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and coaches. This role requires a Red Seal certification and a minimum of five years’ experience working on heavy-duty vehicles. Ideal candidates should demonstrate commitment to safety and possess strong organizational skills. The company values diversity and strongly encourages applications from local Indigenous peoples.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years’ experience working on heavy-duty trucks and coaches, preferably in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Focused and self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.

  • Maintain all heavy-duty trucks and coach equipment in a reliable and safe operating condition.
  • Conduct equipment testing, reporting deficiencies, timely inspections.
  • Liaise with maintenance planning group to maintain inventory of parts.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

The Truck and Coach Technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment availability by servicing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and coaches in accordance with company standards and design specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain all heavy-duty trucks and coach equipment in a reliable and safe operating condition
  • Conduct equipment testing, reporting deficiencies, timely inspections, preventative maintenance service and quality repair of equipment in accordance with work plans and maintenance schedules
  • Liaise with maintenance planning group to maintain inventory of parts leading to optimal equipment availability
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the operations group
  • Prepare electronic service reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work area
  • Analyze maintenance procedures and make recommendations to improve effectiveness
  • Ensure that safety issues are reported to the supervisor and promptly remedied
  • Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Ontario Provincial/Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) Truck and Coach Technician (310T) Certificate required
  • Minimum five years’ experience working on heavy-duty trucks and coaches, preferably in a mining or industrial setting
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices
  • Focused and self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset
