Job description

We are currently seeking Truck & Trailer Technicians to join our team at our brand-new Speed Bay facility in Saint John, NB. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern, fast‑paced environment alongside a skilled maintenance team committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Truck and Transport Mechanic Certification (minimum Level 1 Apprentice)
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and shop processes
  • Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in truck and trailer maintenance
  • Basic truck and trailer maintenance skills and mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in truck and trailer maintenance
  • Experience with troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Strong parts identification knowledge
  • Freightliner / Detroit Diesel training considered an asset
  • Red Seal designation
  • Welding experience considered an asset
Responsibilities

As a Truck & Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of Sunbury's fleet. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on trucks and trailers
  • Diagnosing mechanical concerns and confirming findings with the supervisor
  • Reviewing and completing work orders accurately and efficiently
  • Road testing motor vehicles and testing automotive systems and components
  • Adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of truck/trailer systems
  • Repairing or replacing mechanical units and components to manufacturer specifications
  • Completing detailed reports to document work performed and issues identified
  • Maintaining a clean, safe workspace in accordance with 5S standards
  • Working collaboratively with technicians and apprentices
  • Following established processes for core and warranty management
  • Adhering to Sunbury’s safety policies, procedures, and shop standards
  • Responsible for completing MVIs in accordance with NB Guidelines
