A charitable organization in White Rock is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to assist with budgeting, financial forecasting and supporting fundraising events. The ideal candidate has expertise in budgeting and a passion for making a difference in the rare disease community. The role requires participation in virtual Board meetings and additional commitments. Time commitment is 3-6 hours a month.

Qualifications

Job description

The Tumour Foundation of BC is a vibrant charitable organization serving individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis since 1984.

We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to support the Foundation's strategic priorities in the role of a volunteer Treasurer.

Expertise in budgeting and financial forecasting is required for this position, as is a passion for wanting to make a difference in the rare disease community. Experience working with a non-profit board is definitely an asset, but not essential. (We can grow together!)

The Board meets virtually on the first Wednesday of every month at 7pm. There is an expectation you will be available to participate inadditional Executive meetings, a yearly strategic planning session, and support the Foundation's fundraising events throughout the year.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the development of the budget in consultation with the Board and staff
  • Interpreting financial reports and sharing findings and concerns regularly with the Board at meetings
  • Providing guidance and advisement on financial investments
  • Assessing the financial results of fundraising ventures and new programs
  • Engaging in other general duties required by the members of the Board

Time Commitment:
3-6 hours a month
