Job Description
  • Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
  • Follow instructions; locate and read location and roadmaps
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Load and unload cargo
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed
  • Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
  • Report road incidents to the dispatcher
  • Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers
  • Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy

Requirements

  • Pallet jack experience required; forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
