Overview

TiMi Montreal is a new AAA development team making an innovative open world role-playing game in Unreal Engine 5. The studio is part of TiMi Studio Group and Tencent. The core team has a proven track record on open world games such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Watch Dogs, and aims to be a flagship first-party studio for TiMi with a global audience. The role is based in TiMi Montreal, Canada.

What the Role Entails
  • Develop content creation pipelines and features that support art direction, in collaboration with the Art Director, Technical Art Director and Programmers.
  • Build scalable art content production pipelines and tools to maximize quality, performance and efficiency.
  • Benchmark features through research and testing; create asset banks (textures, materials, VFX).
  • Establish rules and guidelines for art content production; produce visual benchmarks that push technology forward.
  • Collaborate with the programming team to guide feature development; support a team of artists to work efficiently and consistently.
  • Define performance budgets for game components; fix performance issues and polish features; write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Profile and optimize performance for console/PC; mentor a team of artists as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • At least eight years of professional AAA game development experience.
  • At least two AAA open world titles shipped on current generation consoles.
  • Experience with procedural content creation (Houdini); scripting (Python, C#); 3D/2D software (3DS Max, Blender, Photoshop, Substance); shaders; Niagara (VFX).
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5; strong understanding of art content production, integration and validation.
  • Team player, highly collaborative, results oriented; good communication and presentation skills.
  • Autonomous and proactive in developing efficient solutions; curious about new technologies and industry trends.
