A leading visual effects company in Vancouver is seeking a Texture Artist to create photoreal and stylised textures for characters and environments. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years in CG or VFX production and proficiency in tools like Mari and Substance Painter. The role requires teamwork and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to provide a demo reel showcasing relevant experience.

Cohesively work alongside other asset departments (Model, Rig, Character FX, Look Development) to create and apply photoreal and/or stylised textures. Design organic and hard surface textures in order to achieve the desired look of characters, props, and environments. Set up complex surface textures and prep surface files for lighting. Meet show deadlines, participate in Dailies, Rounds, and team reviews. Interact with Production, Supervisors, Leads, and peers in order to interpret notes and feedback on assigned tasks. Assist with efficient problem solving and sharing relevant information across the Texture Department. Work proficiently as part of a team, as well as independently, to determine various solutions to create exceptional textures for CG and/or VFX work.
Able demonstrate exceptional skills/abilities in CG artwork. Minimum requirement of 3 years CG or VFX production experience. Knowledge of applicable software packages including Mari, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Katana, and Maya. Mudbox, ZBrush, Substance Designer, Modo experience a plus. Lookdev experience is a plus.
