Job summary

Role:

The test engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop state-of-the-art test stations to automate the production of geostationary or constellation antennas. You will be part of a specialized test team to ensure that once in orbit, antenna performance meets customer requirements and delivers the communications service required for the mission.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the following main activities:

  • Interface with design team
  • Analysis of test requirements
  • Definition of test methods and techniques
  • Definition of test and test data processing resources
  • Drafting of test plans, procedures and reports
  • Development of software applications and automatic RF test and measurement procedures
  • Coding and validation of test sequences
  • Test follow-up and operations support according to required specialization:
    • RF in PIM, Nearfield or Compact Test Range
    • RF in Active Electronics, Burn-In
    • Power in Electronic Power Converters
    • Metrology in flight unit alignment
    • Mechanics for thermal testing
  • Planning and coordination of test activities and team of technicians.
Minimum Qualifications required:
  • Sc. or equivalent in electrical engineering or physics.
  • The candidate must have a background in electrical engineering or physics with a strong foundation in electromagnetics or microwaves, as well as good programming skills.
  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Motivated individual with a sense of initiative, good team coordination skills and a desire to improve test techniques
  • Good knowledge of French both oral and written (Contact with customers outside Quebec).

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
