Overview
The Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a Psychologist to provide education, program development, assessment and treatment services in the Outpatient Services. You will work to provide education and training to support interprofessional teams providing evidence-based clinical assessment and treatment (individual and group therapy). Position responsibilities also include providing diagnostic clarification for clients, consultation to interprofessional members, supervising students, as well as initiating research projects (which may include quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives).
Responsibilities
- Provide education, program development, assessment and treatment services in Outpatient Services.
- Provide education and training to support interprofessional teams delivering evidence-based clinical assessment and treatment (individual and group therapy).
- Provide diagnostic clarification for clients; consult to interprofessional members; supervise students.
- Initiate research projects including quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Doctoral level Psychology degree; preferably with 3 years clinical and / or research experience in severe and persistent mental illness; registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in good standing. (Candidates eligible for registration may be interviewed.)
- Demonstrated leadership to work with an interprofessional team, especially with teams moving toward best practice foundations.
- Experience providing, teaching and supervising evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, CPT, DBT).
- Expertise in developing assessment protocols to clarify diagnosis and contribute to evidence-based clinical management and assessment of patients with serious mental illness and / or personality disorder.
- Interest and aptitude for academic activities, including teaching graduate students and ability to conduct independent research relevant to the Outpatient Program (asset).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
