Team Lead Position

Community Group Care Transition Homes

ANTICIPATED START DATE: As Soon As Possible

We are currently seeking two qualified full-time Team Lead for our Community Group Care Transition Home program. We are excited to offer an opportunity to enhance the program to learn and grow in the Child and Youth Care field as we transition. As a Team Lead, you will make great connections to our youth, receive thorough orientation and training, and be part of a supportive team! As this is a new position in the Transition homes, you will be responsible on creating and developing space to enhance Chimo’s Group Care program which may include team development, support staffing model, promoting staff development, and implementation of Signs of Belonging under the direction of the Supervisor. Expected duties to include On Call, scheduling, flexibility of shift work, direct work with youth/families, Case Planning, cultural connections, family connection and development of the position.

  • Possess knowledge of community resources that support our youth
  • Build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with families, CS staff and other stakeholders
  • Work effectively with all Chimo CGC staff and leadership
  • Good written, computer and verbal communication skills
  • Contribute to the on-going successful development of the Chimo CGC Program

Education, Credentials and Requirements:

  • Applicants must have a 2-year diploma or university degree in human services.
  • Experience working with youth in a group home setting is a definite asset.
  • A clear and current (within 6 months) Criminal Records Check and Children Services Intervention Record Check
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clean driving record (no more than 2 current convictions on your abstract) and 3 years driving experience
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Be able to provide current auto insurance showing $2 million liability and you use your vehicle for work with no at-fault accidents in the past 3 years
  • Training in First Aid, Suicide Intervention and Crisis Intervention
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses minimum)
  • This position requires shift work that includes evenings, overnights, and weekends. Flexibility is important to support the youths in the program and to support your team.

Physical Requirements

Successful candidates will be physically able to:

  • Climb stairs repeatedly during the day
  • Help with household tasks, including regular housework (washing floors, cleaning washrooms, etc.), meal prep, cooking, driving youth to appointments
  • Help with yard work (mowing lawns, raking leaves, shoveling snow)
  • You must be able and prepared to physically interact with youth in inside and outside recreation activities
