OPEN RECRUITMENT — TEACHER (PROBATIONARY)

Salary: AMBE Salary Grid

The Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education (AMBE) was created in 1985 by the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA). AMBE provides educational and Child Care services to the Akwesasne Mohawk Community, including three Child Care Centers and three Schools offering K4 to Grade 8, coordination of secondary education services with local school boards, adult education services, and post-secondary assistance. The Akwesasne Mohawk Community includes about 13,000 people and borders Ontario and Quebec in Canada and New York State in the USA.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the School Principal, the Teacher is responsible for teaching and educating students according to the educational needs, abilities and attainment potential of each student entrusted to the teacher by the School Principal.

Qualifications
  • Ontario Teaching Certificate in the Primary or Junior Division or NYS Certification N-6 or Intermediate Qualifications
  • Teaching Experience is an asset
