McGill University is seeking a Systems Analyst to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of information systems that enhance the management and operation of the University’s Research Core Facilities and other research administration and data systems within the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (VPRI).
Research Core Facilities are shared research platforms that provide access to specialized equipment, expertise, training, services, technologies, and scientific and technical personnel. These facilities support researchers within and outside McGill, as well as industry partners, and are a critical component of McGill’s research infrastructure.
Reporting to the Director of Research Software and working closely with the Associate Director, Research Systems and Planning (Office of VPRI), the incumbent will play a pivotal role in liaising between Research Administration, Core Facility Managers, Finance, and IT teams to ensure that the core facilities management software (e.g., Idea Elan Infinity X) supports operational workflows, institutional goals and compliance standards. While the initial focus of the role will be on Core Facilities management systems, the position is expected to contribute more broadly to the analysis, configuration, integration, and support of other VPRI data and administrative systems as institutional needs evolve. This position involves business analysis, system configuration, data integration, user training, and vendor liaison to ensure the continuous improvement and sustainability of Core Facilities systems.
