Job summary

A leading technology services firm in Oxford County, Woodstock is seeking a Systems Administrator for ongoing integration projects. This role involves managing virtual machines, Office 365, Active Directory changes, and ensuring system performance. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Windows Server, networking knowledge, and solid troubleshooting skills. This position offers a pay rate of $50/hr and begins with a fully onsite arrangement for the first three months, transitioning to a hybrid model afterward.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Windows Server (2016–2022) and some minor Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN).
  • Some programming skills (PowerShell, VBS, Batch).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and network components.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, Group Policy in Active Directory.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols, including patching and vulnerability management.

Pay Rate

$50/hr.

*100% onsite for initial 3 months in Woodstock and then hybrid (3 days in office)*

1 year contract

Summary

Ongoing integration projects require an additional member on the Systems Admin team to facilitate the creation of virtual machines, managing existing virtual machines, managing Office 365 and Active Directory changes, DFS changes, managing and publishing Apps in Parallels, and managing Intune and client app deployment.

A team member may also be called upon to assist with an integration on site across Canada with deploying network equipment, PCs, migrating existing VMs and user accounts/email.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and network components.
  2. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
  3. Manage user accounts, permissions, Group Policy in Active Directory.
  4. Implement and enforce security protocols, including patching and vulnerability management.
  5. Manage Parallels VDI environment
  6. Manage backup software and disaster recovery planning.
  7. Administer virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune).
  8. Document system configurations, policies, and procedures.
  9. Provide escalation support for complex technical issues.
