Our Operation IT team is looking for a System Administrator to join their team on-site at our Gatineau office. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growth-oriented organization and to gain experience and an understanding of the energy sector.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Participate in daily system administration and infrastructure operations including:
    • Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, RTUs, and OT infrastructure to ensure system performance and availability.
    • Monitoring system health and logs to proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact uptime or security.
    • Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls in alignment with security policies.
    • Installing, configuring, and updating software, patches, and security enhancements.
    • Providing technical support by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
    • Collaborating with IT/OT teams and vendors to implement new technologies and optimize infrastructure.
  • Communicate scheduled maintenance and potential service impacts to users in a timely manner.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to support consistency and team collaboration.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Guide team members on technical procedures, priorities, and special requests from regional groups.
  • Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, reducing turnaround times, and enhancing service quality.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans for servers, operating systems, databases, and applications.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform system upgrades, enhancements, and technology purchases.
  • Research emerging products, services, protocols, and standards, and provide recommendations to support system modernization.
You should apply if you:
  • Proven history of maintaining and administering a complex server environment;
  • Must have a mindset that focuses on end user stability and availability;
  • A strong feel and knowledge of process and execution of process in a structured environment;
  • Ability to define issues, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and develop sound conclusions;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment both independently and in a cross functional team;
  • Strong analytical abilities and able to conduct research into issues and products as required;
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours, weekend, on-call and travel across North America as required;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent fluency in English; bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
What you must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline; or
    • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in system administration including knowing of Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, and identity/access management;
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux environments, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix).
  • Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and security best practices
  • Experience reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with Industrial Automation software, Wonderware, iFix;
  • Familiarity with AVIVA PI software.
